National, Statewide and Regional Labor Market Information - Employment Numbers & Wages National, Statewide, and Regional labor market information is included in Job Browser Pro. Just click a button and a window of data is shown. For example, wage information shown below is drawn from multiple resources, including the Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), Current Population Survey (CPS) data, and Occupational Employment Survey (OES). CENSUS 2000 codes are used and are reported for Men, Women, or Both Mean and/or Median Wages. ![]() The display windows have a great deal of information. To expand the view of a particular section, just click the ![]() ![]() Click the "Show all DOTs in this CENSUS Group" or OES Group button to display a list of all of the DOT occupations that comprise this statistical group (for better interpretation of LMI). ![]() |
OES Employment Numbers data is available nationally, statewide and at the Regional MSA level (Metropolitan/Micropolitan Statistical Area) and now for 175 non-MSA areas (i.e. Rural). Click the "Show Counties" button to reveal the counties covered in the selected Regional area. Note the national frequency of Full-Time / Part-Time / Self-Employment for this entire OES group. Click the Estimate DOT Employment Numbers button for an estimate of employment numbers for this DOT occupation. ![]() To better estimate the frequency with which a DOT occupation might be found in a regional/local economy, study the % Occupational Density column in Long Term Outlook. This shows the frequency with which an OES occupation is found in the national economy by industry. Use Job Browser Pro's new feature to estimate DOT employment numbers. Long Term Outlook data is derived from the associated OOH data (when available) and from OES National Long Term projections. A convenient feature shows the value of an intervening year using straight-line interpolation between the base and the projected year employment. Just select the target year and the math is recalculated. Projections are pre-sorted by industry showing the industries with the most employment first. This can be very helpful to job search and labor market survey. There are often hundreds of industries associated with an OES group. ![]() |
