Advanced Searches - Ten Lookup Methods
Advanced searches can be done using 10 different code systems. Each search method produces a different list of ideas for vocational planning and career exploration. As you become familiar with these different classifications, you will be able to quickly identify many occupations related to your clients interests.
Search by WORK field to identify occupations that may have some transferability, particularly if the occupation is found in similar industries as the past work experience. WORK fields are also great for career exploration, as the codes capture the essence of the occupational tasks.
You can get a list of all occupations in a two-digit WORK, MPSMS or NOC field or of all occupations in a 4-digit GOE code.
Or search by MPSMS code to learn about occupations that share similar Materials, Products, Subject Matter, or Services. This is another important aspect in the analysis of transferable skills.
