1. It is a Windows-based program (95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP compatible).
2. You can easily copy and paste information from Job Browser Pro to a word processing program. No more drudgery typing in job descriptions!
3. All worker characteristic and labor market information can be copied and pasted into your favorite word processor from all screens.
4. It is a supported product. Support for EZ-DOT was discontinued some while ago. SkillTRAN will make future data and program updates only for Job Browser Pro.
5. There are so many more ways to search that you will find useful to your counseling and transition assistance. You will learn to listen to your clients differently, and be able to drill down to specific answers to their questions very quickly.
6. Internet access to the OOH is great .... but sometimes very slow or maybe not even available. Job Browser Pro shows OOH data instantly and it is interwoven into the job specialties.
7. The new O*NET Database is evolving, but still won't be mainstream (fully validated) for another few years. The DOT has depth - O*NET has breadth (some 220+ variables per O*NET occupation vs. 70 for each DOT occupation). 8. The O*NET Career Exploration Tools - Version 3.0 is included with the Job Browser Pro distribution. So you can judge for yourself what works best for you and your customer base. Having an arsenal of tools is always handy. The Career Exploration Tools include the Interest Profiler and the Work Importance Profiler. The Interest Profiler is a quick automated interest inventory that yields O*NET groups for further exploration. Job Browser Pro can be used to research both those suggested O*NET groups and the specific DOT codes within each group.
9. Job Browser Pro includes national labor market projections and local (Metroplitan/Micropolitan Statistical Area - MSA), statewide and national wage and employment data, always quickly available and formatted in a way that is useful to counselors and job seekers, not for statisticians.
10. The JB Pro product is fully integrated. You don't have to look elsewhere for information unless you really want to. An internet connection is not required.
