Version 1.1 -
Installation Version 1.1 of Job
Browser Pro has an occasional problem correctly installing a component of the
database program used to look up data. To easily correct this problem, do the
following:
- Click here for special instructions.
Print that page.
- Install the missing file into the
folder location given in the instructions above.
TIPS Job Browser Pro is
very easy to use. Buttons are carefully placed and clearly labelled. The only
item you might overlook is Help.
- Get Help. Nearly every
screen has a button called HELP. Click it or hold down the ALT
key then press the H key (ALT + H) to pop up an extensive help
file. The help file itself has many buttons that will likely address your
particular needs for retrieving occupational information.
- Use the help file as a
tutorial. There are many different suggestions that will show you how
to use the product for your typical career guidance and vocational exploration
needs.
- Use the Windows Shortcut
keys. If you see a button with a single character underlined, hold the
ALT key down, then press the key with that underlined letter. It
works just as if you had used the mouse to click that button.
For
the most part, you should be able to drive Job Browser Pro 1.1 without using
the mouse at all. This feature was added to accommodate users with visual
impairments, but it works just great as a tool for everyone!
- Let your clients use Job
Browser too. You might want to jot down a list of just DOT codes for them
to look up. They can learn about the occupations you suggest based on your
assessment of their skills, interests, and abilities. Make up a form consisting
of multiple columns. Have them write in each title on the form and rate their
level of interest in each occupation.
